Carl's Open Source Projects

About

Once in a while, when I have nothing better to do, I write some little programs of small commercial value and of use and interest mainly to myself. Some people have expressed interest in seeing my source code so, in the spirit of Open Source, I am making some of my projects publicly accessible in source code form.

The packages

This is an embarrassingly tiny collection so far. I hope to grow it as I find time.
WizTerm
A terminal emulator for playing text-based adventure games, especially British Legends. It's mostly telnet-based, so in a pinch you could use it to connect to some other telnet-like services as well.

I'm particularly proud of the synchronous socket handler component for Delphi, SocketComm.pas, which could be of use in other Delphi projects doing socket communications as well.

Buffy

Probably the world's simplest FTP server, designed for a single user, a single password and a single (default) transfer directory. Internet connectivity based on the Internet Component Suite by Francois Piette.

dateutil

A set of Java classes to provide for fast and simple date/time handling. Practically everything is stored as int values, and all methods are carefully optimized. If your application uses a lot of date and/or time values and you are worried about performance, you are much better off with these classes than GregorianCalendar and its relatives from the Standard Library.
